Through Olivia’s Fine Art Degree, her practice has developed into a narrative of the teen experience. This is the theme of ‘Teen Dream’; an exhibition she is curating for Somerset Art Weeks. She am hoping to build a career in the field of curation, and recently curated the show ‘Unfinished Business’ in The Long Gallery, at Hestercombe Gardens, a group show displaying the works in progress of the third year Fine Art Students on University Centre Somerset.
Having recently finished my degree, I am hoping to become acquainted with other young artists in the county. The Creative Pathways Bursary will allow me the opportunity to meet, and give the younger artists in Somerset the chance to express the experience of their adolescence. I believe it is important to give the artistic youth the exposure they need to tell the stories of their experiences of growing up in a rural area like Somerset. Also, the bursary is giving me to incredible opportunity to curate my first exhibition post graduation.
